Dear Men of Calvary Chapel Boise,
Greetings, I pray that you are being enriched by God's grace and mercy. We have entered 2010 with some leadership changes for the Men's Ministry at Calvary Chapel Boise. I have recently come on staff as an assistant pastor and have gained the Men's Ministry as an area of my responsibility. I look forward to meeting and getting to know as many of you as possible and I am excited to serve along side, and mature spiritually together.
In this new season I believe the Lord is calling our Men's Ministry to step up as spiritual leaders. My desire is that the men of thic church body, whether married or single, would be men who lead not by their own might and wisdom, but by the conviction and strength that is only attained through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To foster this conviction and strength, I believe we must look for opportunities to further our spiritual growth. This means we will continue to offer and develop Bible studies that are both topical and relevant to men's issues. My hope is that you will take time to get involved in a men's core group so that you may be challenged by others and allow God to use you to minister to others as well.
Another desire for the Men's Ministry is to develop and utilize the gifts of the Holy Spirit within our own lives. We need to embrace and utilize what God has made available for a spiritually enriched relationship with Him. As a result our outward lives will be more equipped to bless our families and also those we are called to witness to. I believe we can develop and mature these gifts through times of prayer and fellowship, weekend retreats, and also by organizing events and activities that will cultivate our spiritual walk and life.
Finally, my desire for the Men's Ministry is that we would be a ministry where the men of our church body can have a place to turn to for accountability and restoration. I also want us to be able to disciple and develop spiritual leaders. It is my hope that visitors would feel welcome and comfortable enough to take part in the pieces of the ministry we have to offer.
Please be in prayer about how you can be a part of our Men's Ministry. I pray that God would draw you closer to Him and that through your time with Him you would learn to be used as a spiritual leader, a father and a husband.
